Crops for Better Soil

The aim of this project is to demonstrate on a significant scale and with innovative measurement technologies that the application of particular organic farming techniques can improve soil fertility and at the same time increase yields.
During the project’s lifetime, chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and genetically modified crops will not be used. The farmers that participate in the project will receive professional training about ecological production during and after the project’s lifetime.
Objectives
The main objective of this project is to offer a viable, risk-free solution to the degradation of land caused by the implementation of erosive agricultural practices and by land abandonment in semi-arid areas with poor soil conditions. To achieve this, we will use well-known techniques like crop rotation in legumes, oilseeds and cereal, and innovative methods of soil and crop analysis.
