This project aims to improve the sustainability and quality of stone fruit production to create a more competitive and healthier sector.
During the project’s lifetime we will develop the Zero Residues (ZR) production method. This new system of producing, conserving, commercializing and processing stone fruits without residues will set a new trend in stone fruit production, producing higher quality, more attractive and healthier fruit at a competitive price. ZR production method will also help improve several environmental problems generated during farming while avoiding soil degradation and underground water pollution. The App Zerya® Predictive Models will help manage the protection of crops from pests and diseases and can be used from any computer or mobile phone.
The project seeks to meet the following objectives:
- Develop the ZR methodology for the production of stone fruit
- Reduce environmental problems generated during the production process
- Improve the processing and conservation in the post-harvest stage, and increase awareness and promotion of stone fruit in the market
- Reduce fruit residues due to quality imperfections through new techniques
